The Shane Project provided a complimentary reflexology and Indian head massage session from October- November 2010 which turned out to be a success with the service users. Service users reported that they found itReflexology with Maggie beneficial as the central nervous system stimulated through pressure applied to the hands and feet which promotes relaxation and soothes and calms the body and relieves tension in the muscles enabling bodies to de-stress.

The overall benefits from reflexology and Indian Head massage are that it helps to balance the body's system, such as circulation and digestion, balancing hormones, improving its lymphatic drainage which helps boost the body's immune system. It also helps to detoxify the body, which is especially relevant with clients who take medication or whose limited mobility means the body doesn't easily clear the toxins.

This workshop was found to be very beneficial and many service users had asked for more sessions during the year.

Due to the popularity of this service and thanks to funding from the Big Lottery we ran further reflexology sessions for our service users, carers and families over May 2012.
